It’s on: Kedarnath second schedule tees off

Disaster film Kedarnath was stuck briefly in a disastrous jam, but things are now flowing once again…

In what must come as very good news to all those associated with the film, the Abhishek Kapoor directorial is back on track. The filmmaker shared a video showing the progress of the Sushan Singh Rajput-Sara Ali Khan starrer. Posted a video wherein he is performing a puja of Lord Shiva, Abhishek captioned it, “The journey continues.. schedule 2 underway #kedarnath #jaibholenath @sushantsinghrajput #saraalikhan.”

The fate of the film had come under a cloud when issues snowballed between producers KriArj and T-Series versus director Abhishek Kapoor’s Guy in the Sky (GITS) Pictures.

Abhishek’s lawyer had stated that GITS had terminated the agreement with KriArj on January 15, 2018 on account of default committed by KriArj. These included default in payment, bouncing of cheque and bouncing of NEFT and lack of transparency in their dealings.

The KriArj Entertainment lawyer countered, “We will be moving the Bombay High Court for enforcing our rights on the film by early next week and we hope to secure the necessary reliefs from the honourable court... KriArj has tried to salvage the situation with GITS several times including making multiple efforts to resolve issues to no avail. KriArj, T-Series and Balaji are the rightful owners of the film as its co-producers and therefore, GITS has no rights to oust KriArj out of the film and out of its legal rights as producers and owners of the film.”

Amidst reports of the ill-fated Kedarnath being shelved, Arjun N. Kapoor of KriArj Entertainment denied the rumours. "Firstly, the film is not shelved. It 'is' and not 'was'. It is very much on. I know, as a producer, that many fortunes are involved with every film… Sara's career is surely important forKriArj. Not only hers but everyone involved in the film. Having said that, there was a valid reason for us to move the court and we are confident that things will be sorted out soon."

With filming of the second schedule having begun, dare we say it will be a smooth ride ahead for the film after all?
