Sara could be on board for the Hindi Medium sequel!

Hindi Medium producer Dinesh Vijan is keeping his lips sealed. All he will say is, “I have just finished the script and I am going to get into the casting now.” However, talk is already flowing thick and fast that it will be Sara Ali Khan who will land the female lead in the sequel to Hindi Medium.

The actress, who makes her debut in Kedarnath, is touted to play a teenager in the sequel. The sequel will take the action ahead by a decade. It will portray the 5-year-old Pia as being her teens. Needless to add, the fabulous Irrfan Khan will return as Raj Batra, the rich Delhi businessman who had tried every trick in the book to get his daughter admitted into an English medium school. Irrfan’s performance had even bagged him the Filmfare Best Actor award, and the thrilled actor had himself revealed that producer Dinesh Vijan was working on a sequel to the film.

Even though Vijan is keeping his cards close to his chest at this point, he is apparently very keen on having Sara on board. Dinesh and Saif were former business partners and had collaborated on films like Being Cyrus, Love Aaj Kal, Agent Vinod, Cocktail, Go Goa Gone and Happy Ending.

While Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, who had played Pia’s mother in Hindi Medium, is not likely to return in the sequel, one wonders if we will catch a glimpse of Sara’s mother, Amrita Singh, who had played the principal of the English medium Delhi Grammar School in the original.

Buzz goes that the sequel, Hindi Medium 2, produced by Dinesh and T-Series, will be a fresh take on the Indian educational system.

Yesterday, Sara’s debut film made news for the wrong reasons, when it emerged that director Abhishek Kapoor had parted ways with producers KriArj Entertainment and T-Series. The decision was allegedly taken due to financial interferences and lack of transparency. While the fate of the disaster film Kedarnath, which is being made on a high budget, looks a tad uncertain at this point, the future continues to look bright for young Sara.
