Defense Ministry to review Aiyaary, CBFC yet to certify

Not long ago a certain period drama, a.k.a. Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat ran into trouble with the censor board.

The entire cast has been promoting the movie everywhere and now the film has come under the radar with its certification which could suggest that the movie’s overseas release will face considerable trouble.

With just a week away for the release of Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee starrer 'Aiyaary', Neeraj Pandey's action drama is waiting for its clearance from CBFC.

A source close to the development said, "Since Aiyaary is set against the army backdrop, the Defense Ministry wants to review the film."

Aiyaary which was slated to release on January 26th was shifted to February 9 to avoid a three-way clash with Padmaavat and PadMan. Now with Padmaavat having a solo release, PadMan has shifted it's date and will lock horns with Aiyaary, if it releases on that day, that is.

Aiyaary revolves around two army officers who hold drastically different views. Both Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee play army officers, wherein the former shares a mentor-protege bond with the latter. The film also stars Rakul Preet, Anupam Kher, Naseeruddin Shah and Pooja Chopra.
