Sonam Kapoor would never lose her beauty sleep over the nastiness spewed at her on social media. The gal has found the ideal way to deal with trolls who unfailingly ridicule everything about her in the vast nameless faceless universe of cyberspace. Nothing gets her down thanks to her five-point agenda when it comes to dealing with trolls.
“It’s simply five things - Do not give a shit about what nameless, faceless people say because they are obviously cowards. If they wanted to comment on you, they wouldn’t do it anonymously. Usually, they are fake profiles who are hired to write such stuff by whoever. I don’t know! Report them. Block them. You should also know that because you are relevant, they’re talking about you — good or bad. And finally, just be positive and happy knowing that there are people who love you for who you are,” she shared in a recent interview.

She became the target of crude and crass comments when she posted pictures of herself lounging by the pool in Phuket with her Veere Di Wedding co-stars. Moments after she had uploaded it, the comments section filled up with body-shaming slurs and distasteful comments about her supposed wrong choice of attire.

Alluding to the BMC-imposed four-day meat ban in Mumbai, Sonam had commented that India will remain a third world country “because of the intolerant misogynistic close minded few.” Her choice of the term ‘misogynistic’, in particular, inundated her with ridicule and hate.
In fact, she was even trolled for her article in an English daily, which sought to raise awareness on online abuse and bullying! A quote from her piece read, “I love my country but for some of you — and you’re the bigots, not me — I become ‘anti-national’ only because I ask questions or choose to be critical. Listen to the national anthem…recall the line you heard as kids, ‘Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Issai…’”. Without waiting to read the rest of the article, the trolls jumped in, presuming that she didn’t know the national anthem!
