In between being Bharat, Salman Khan will be Chulbul Pandey in 2018!

Salman Khan’s got an action-packed 2018 coming up. Not in terms of his crime drama Race 3 which is slated for release in May. The actor is supposed to get into production for Bharat, the film he is making for his brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri, in February. Bharat is an official adaptation of the 2014 South Korean drama Ode to My Father. This film depicted the modern history of South Korea, from the 1950s to present day, through the life of an ordinary man. The Bollywood remake will talk about the journey of India and also a person, both of whom are named Bharat. It’s being directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, who is fast becoming Salman’s favourite director and is being slated for release during Eid 2019.

What is more interesting is that Salman, while he is in the midst of shooting for Bharat, will begin work on his brother Arbaaz Khan’s Dabangg 3. And the actor will be able to do that because the first half of Bharat will be shot in 2018 and the rest of the film in 2019. Salman intends to use the time in between for Dabangg 3 which is being directed by Prabhudeva. He is not among those actors who work on multiple films at a time. This is the first time in years that Salman is attempting to work like this and that’s only because Atul’s schedule for Bharat is divided between 2018 and 2019.

Bharat marks Salman’s and Zafar’s third collaboration after Sultan and Tiger Zinda Hai. When Atul came up with the idea of the film Salman suggested Zafar’s name to direct Bharat. Atul has adapted the script to Indian history for which he had to do massive research. As per sources, Zafar is now ready with the script and has shown it to Salman who reportedly loves it. The film will be shot in Delhi, Punjab, Spain, and Abu Dhabi. It is a big budget film and a lot of people are engaged in selecting locations, designing sets etc. However, it will not be shot in one go. Its sets will be built on a massive scale and will be required to show different eras which require a lot of work and time. Hence there will be gaps in between shooting schedules. Which Salman will use for Dabangg 3. Come in please, Chulbul Pandey!
