Did you know Varun Dhawan still asks his big brother for cash?

Brothers will be brothers! Just the other day we were chuckling over Prince William’s comment about his brother Prince Harry’s engagement – “We're very excited and delighted for them both and wishing them all the happiness in this very exciting time. And for me personally, I hope it means he stays out of my fridge and will stop him scrounging my food, which he's done for the last few years.” And now comes Varun Dhawan’s own admission that he still takes money from his big brother Rohit!

The actor, who hit bull’s eye with Judwaa 2 directed by his father David Dhawan, has been enjoying all the fanfare but is careful as always not to let success swell his head. He is quick to point out that his success has not changed things for him or his family. “My house is run like that; it’s the same way it was. Yes, now I do a few things such as sending my parents for holiday or buying a car. But, I still don’t pay for small things and I still take money from Rohit. And he always gives me money!” Adorable or what?!

Having just completed the filming of October, and with Sui Dhaaga and Shiddat lined up for next year, Varun prefers not to allow cutthroat competition into the picture. He believes that there is no way one can move ahead by going against another actor or by taking delight in other’s mistakes. He reveals that this thinking was not the result of any incident in particular, but that the thought came to him “from seeing how the past two years have gone by (for the industry). Maybe I have spent more time in the industry to see such things.”

He states that as a newcomer he saw the more positive side of the industry but it was as he moved ahead, that reality hits you. “I see this happening all the time, with us actors and even journalists. So if they say anything, they get a negative feedback and that shocks me.”

Another major area that remains unchanged in Varun, is his devotion to daddy David Dhawan. Speaking about his father’s touch which was there to see in Judwaa 2, he marvelled, “I don’t know any director who is so coherent and connects so well with today’s youth as my dad does.” Awwdorable, that!
