As Ranveer supports Mahira, we can’t help remember how Deepika had dissed Katrina!

Yes, we are touched by how Ranveer Singh has come out in defence of Ranbir Kapoor and Mahira Khan, after the two were pulped after being papped smoking outside Mahira’s hotel in New York. The duo had faced a deluge of hate after the photos had made their way online, till Ranbir had to step in and try to stem the damage.

Now it’s Ranveer’s turn to speak up about the issue and he has spoken honestly and candidly about it. He reveals that there are times when he is at “a certain place” with “certain people” and he doesn’t want those private moments to be captured by anyone. However, it can’t he helped, he pointed out, and one has to take the good with the bad. He is straight-spoken enough to admit that the profession gives him the opportunity to do what he loves, and it also gives him a lot of money. Sure, some things are irritating but one has to take it in your stride, he pointed out, adding, “It’s a crazy world.”

Mahira came in for special mention as he stated that she is a great performer and an entertainer, and one should ideally just engage with her at just that level.

His attitude is in stark contrast to his rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone’s, when she had shared her views on the perils of being a celebrity, back in 2013. It had come in the wake of personal pictures of her ex, Ranbir holidaying with his then-girlfriend, Katrina Kaif in Spain, which had gone viral. The bikini-clad pics of Katrina with Ranbir had been splashed all over the media, and Kat had even come out with an open letter decrying this invasion of privacy.

At that time Deepika had sounded a lot less sympathetic as she declared, ”It has never happened with me. I believe if you are a celebrity or public figure… these things are bound to happen. And I don’t think you can accuse anybody of anything. If I am a public figure and if someone has captured me then I feel I should have been a little careful.”

Opposites do attract, we guess!
