Is Ranbir Kapoor the murderer in Ittefaq? KJo reveals...

Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan, the producers of Ittefaq, today held a press meet in the city. As no promotional activities are taking place for the upcoming murder-mystery, this event was scheduled five days before the film's release, for a brief media interaction. Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Sidharth Malhotra and Akshaye Khanna, Ittefaq is based on the 1969 film with the similar title.

At the event today, KJo was accompanied by SRK on the stage. The evening kickstarted with Khan stating, "When I was growing up, Ittefaq was my mother's favourite film". KJo then took the mic and answered a few queries for the journos. One of them was, 'Who Is The Real Murderer?' in the film. To this, Karan responded,"The film opens with a thank you card to Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor. And everybody at the interval point was, is Ranbir the murderer? I was like, NO, he is not in the film. How will he be the murderer? We are three producers (Red Chillies, Dharma Productions, and BR Studios) on this which is great which is rare for a film of this kind.

Known for his wit and humour, SRK couldn't resist himself and pitched in, "I'm the murderer of the film". That's not all. He further stated that in the end of the film, viewers will see not the credits but a rehashed version of his popular song Kaal Dhamaal.

Karan also spilled some interesting info and revealed how Sonakshi's father was the first choice for the 1969 film. The producer-director shared that Sidharth was the first actor to be cast in the film and Sona and Akshaye joined much later.

Ittefaq will hit the theatre screens on November 3, a day after its co-producer King Khan's 51st birthday. The film is directed by Yash Chopra's (the original film's director) nephew, Abhay Chopra.
