Taimur Ali Khan, the adorable tot of Kareena and Saif, will turn one on December 20 and already interest is growing in just how his famous parents will celebrate his big day. Now doting aunt Karisma has satiated some of that curiosity… At a recent event, she revealed to a section of the media that Taimur’s upcoming birthday is a special moment for the family. “The family is really very excited and thrilled about the same,” she declared, adding, “We will have a family get together of sorts, and will not be having a big celebration.”
That sounds real cosy, but do keep in mind that the Kapoor-Khans’ idea of a ‘big celebration’ would differ vastly from yours and mine! Blessed with a huge clan on either side, even a so-called family get-together is enough to fill up a small ballroom, given the dozens of grand-uncles and aunts, cousins, and relatives of both the Kapoor and Khan families.
The occasion is bound to be hugely special for everyone from Taimur’s great-grandmother - the gracious Krishna Kapoor, to his grandmothers, Sharmila Tagore and Babita, grandpa Randhir, grand uncles Rishi and Rajiv, and uncles and aunts including Karisma Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor and Soha Ali Khan.
Don’t forget, both Kareena and Saif also have a very close-knit group of friends in B-town, including sisters Amrita and Malaika Arora, Karan Johar and her Veere Di Wedding gals, Sonam and Rhea Kapoor.

On top of that, little Taimur is already on his way to accumulating his very own set of friends. Included on the list would be Tusshar Kapoor’s son, Laksshya. A thrilled Tusshar had snapped Taimur and Laksshya, along with another toddler, on a play date earlier this year, and captioned it, “Three’s company! #kidzoned #playdate #nurseyrhymes #thewheelsonthebus #johnyjohnyyespapa.” He had also revealed that Bebo and he wanted their children to bond over games. “Taimur is too young now. Once he grows up, we have decided to organise frequent play dates for them,” Tusshar had informed.
And the icing on the cake… joining Taimur’s bacha party, so to speak, would be Karan Johar’s twins, Yash and Roohi. Recently, Karan himself had revealed that he and Kareena had decided that his twins would make their “debut appearance” at Taimur’s birthday bash. “Watch out Instagram! Because these three cuties are going to break the internet. I can't wait for that photograph,” the excited Karan had raved.
With all this madness already in motion, we seriously wonder how the Kapoor-Khans think they could settle for a first birthday party for Taimur that doesn’t automatically zoom to the top of the Most Awaited Party list!
