Wedding season is upon us! While the first look of the film will be unveiled tomorrow, we have a delicious early morsel to chew over till then. The poster of Veere Di Wedding, directed by Shashanka Ghosh and co-produced by Rhea Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor, has absolutely grabbed eyeballs. The idea of Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor coming together for the very first time was exciting enough. But to see the beauties together in the poster, along with Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania, just ups the thrill several notches…

A golden yellow palette, scarlet flowers rain down on the four beauties in various stages of deshabille… and these ladies have made a fine art of being partly clothed!

Bollywood’s classic favourites, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla have risen to the occasion and how. A ghagra-choli in shades of gold for Kareena, the skirt a-swirl with gorgeous embroidery. The dupatta is yet to be draped, showing off alluring midriff. A hand fan partly covers her face, leaving one intense eye and a beautiful jhumka exposed. Bebo is absolutely rocking it!

Moving on to Sonam, all sassy senorita, back tantalizingly exposed as she waits to be zipped up… Her ivory-meets-gold lehenga definitely has a touch of the Spanish sizzle, with its balloon sleeves and off-the-shoulder neckline. Add to it the flamenco dancer stance with head held high, and the fan to be flicked at will, and the effect is mesmeric!

Swara, in a refreshing lime green lehenga with mirror embellishments, strikes an unwittingly provocative pose and she bends over to slip on her traditional mojris, while Shikha poses prettily in her peach lehenga, as she folds the pleats of a dupatta.

Together, the effect is delightful.

While Sonam has managed to not spill any secrets about the story, Bebo being Bebo had evidently let the cat out of the bag earlier this year. In the course of an interview, she had revealed that she is possessive about her friends and that Veere Di Wedding reflected that side of her. “It’s the story of four girls who attend my wedding and all the dhamaal that it involves. It showcases women and their emotions. It’s the right time to do this kind of film.”
