It could well be a scene out of a sweet romantic Karan Johar film… true friends helping patch things up between the sulking couple. Buzz goes that it was indeed K Jo and Akanksha Ranjan who are behind the renewed Alia Bhatt-Sidharth Malhotra relationship.
The couple was the cynosure of eyes as they walked out together from Sanjay Kapoor’s Diwali cum birthday bash. After months of keeping their distance from each other, it finally looked like the alleged ex-lovers were on again. What’s more, they looked perfectly happy and comfortable together. The paps couldn’t stop clicking and the good-looking pair, dressed in their festive best, didn’t seem to mind in the least.

The break was a thing of the past. Things were alright once again for B-town’s fave young couple, who let the world know that the relationship was on track by appearing together.
Of course, as patch-ups go, this one has a cute and quaint story behind it. Apparently, it started last week with Alia sending out gifts to her friends and associates for Diwali. She had given her office boy a list of the places where he had to deliver the presents. However, a glitch occurred and the boy ended up dropping a gift at Sidharth Malhotra’s home too. How this happened, considering Alia had not put down Sid’s name on the list in the first place, is anyone’s guess. The office boy was berated roundly by Ms. Bhatt for the goof-up but his ‘mistake’ turned out to be a lucky one! Suddenly the silence that stood like an icy wall between the two was cracked.

It was cracked further when Alia invited her close friends over to her Juhu residence for a Diwali dinner. Sid was not on the list – and this did not go down well at all with mentor and friend Karan Johar. Karan was apparently very hurt to know that things had deteriorated so badly between his fave ‘students’, and he promptly called them over to his office the following day. The wall was now well and truly broken!

Aided along by encouragement from Alia’s best bud, Akanksha Rajan, the two were ‘convinced’ to give their relationship another shot – or was it what they had both secretly wanted in the first place?! If further proof were needed, it comes in the form of the picture Akanksha posted with Alia and Karan from the Sanjay Kapoor bash, which she had captioned, “Match-maker and Match-makees”!
