Rock On was the reason I got inclined to music: Farhan Akhtar

Rock On 2 was the last time when we saw Farhan Akhtar play a rockstar, but after the failure of the movie, it was believed that the actor will stay away from musical films. But soon enough the singer turned actor signed Lucknow Central, a film where he will be seen playing the character of Kishan Mohan, a struggling singer caught for a crime he hasn’t committed and ends up eventually forming a band in the prison.
However, the actor always had a connection with music, from his first film Rock On to Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, he has at least crooned ones in his films. Much to our surprise for Lucknow Central, he hasn’t sung any song.  But quickly he declares, “I have always enjoyed music, but Rock On was the reason I got inclined towards it,” he adds, “it gave me an opportunity to sing professionally and that felt really good, which made me take it forward.
Even though Farhan wanted to continue it professionally but due to his busy schedule he is unable to concentrate on singing, “I feel bad when I don’t get to practice,” he claims. He also believes that sheer discipline towards your craft can make you good at it. Especially when it comes to singing one has to be committed to it.
Farhan also leads a band called Farhan Live and performs at various events, even though his movie schedules keep him busy the actor carries his guitar to shoots and practices in between the shots.
That’s a very committed man we say. Let’s hope we see his singing and acting talent together in films to come.
