A clear blue sky and white Mediterranean backdrop amid the great outdoors was the splendid setting for Shruti Sancheti to showcase her ‘Maverick Travel’ collection at the FDCI x Lakme Fashion Week.
You got that feel-good factor as you saw the smiley happy people, all lovely ladies, all appearing free and fearless with their wanderlust dream in their expressive eyes.
The collection, you could see, is versatile, season fluid, fuss-free and perfect to move forward from day to night, season to season and continent to continent.
The silhouettes are an amalgamation of free-swinging and fluid resort wear along with some sharply constructed but relaxed styles like daring cut-out maxis, boho-tiered dresses, loungewear, midis and co-ord sets. The colour palette is happy with canary yellow, Prussian blue, mint green, lilac, powder pink, salmon, ecru and custard.
Surface ornamentation is inspired by various cultures and pretty cord embroidery along with beautiful French knots, boho cross-stitch and lace embellish the garments. Bold paisley prints and florals are blended with fresh checks, stripes and dots. And the fabrics are fluid with mul, poplin and cotton.
