Let’s play Scrabble at the end of it all! That seemed to be the idea at the Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale at the FDCI x Lakmé Fashion Week with Ruchika Sachdeva of Bodice the chosen designer.
Yes, the central part of the long-and-wide show area was filled with blocks with the many models walking up and down and round and round and enchanting the audience. It was a special drive-in show at the Bayview, Princess Dock, Mumbai Port Trust, Mazgaon with the runway resembling a life-size Scrabble board.
Ruchika named her collection ‘Ready Set Play’ and you saw the playful nature of it all with the models happily moving around, looking cool and comfortable with their chic creations and flat canvas walking shoes.

Flashing before your eyes were patterns and shapes, with cues taken from Lakmé’s inspiration this season, that good things come in small packages, in keeping with the concept of these pandemic times when the world is united to discover joy and peace in the smallest of things.
The concept resonated with the Lakmé Absolute Matte Melt Mini Liquid Lipcolor. Yes, the beauty looks from the runway with the bright matte hues on the lips paired perfectly with the Bodice collection. It was so refreshing to see all those pastels inspired by the summer with shades of pale pink, ice blue, pistachio, white, fresh yellow matched with bright colour blocking, in tune with the vibrancy of the lip colours.
And while the models wore comfy shoes, showstopper and Lakmé Brand Ambassador Ananya Panday had to be well-heeled if not in stilettos! She walked tall with that cheerful demeanour in a full-sleeved top and a vibrant and fun pleated geometric printed skirt that reflected her love for colours and her inner creative personality. And she smiled with those ‘Indie Maroon’ lips.
