Day 2 at the Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2020 was all about making this industry more sustainable and environment-friendly. From collaborations with the United Nations Environment Programme to the launch of a no-leather campaign with PETA, LFW is using its voice as a platform to raise awareness for a cause.
The Circular Challenge, as always, was an interesting mix of vogue and sustainability, with new labels on the block showcasing their environment-friendly collections.
Featuring the #WomenInSustainability, the Buna, Jayanti Goenka, Medium and Sadhna’s showcase was all about style, charm and minimalism in a sustainable fashion.
House of Three X Tantajo and Ashdeen show was an eclectic mix of hues and prints, making it a supremely exciting showcase. Take a bow peeps, you did good!
IMG Reliance X PETA India’s vegan-collab launch saw Sunny Leone as the face of the campaign. They unveiled the new poster for the same during the panel discussion held at the venue.
Shades of India’s collection featured light-weight ensembles and crochet work, celebrating the artwork and karigari on the runway.
Inspired by the characters in Little Women, Eka Co.’s showcase displayed an array of hues, abstract prints and modern silhouettes on the runway.
Ritu Kumar’s collection ‘Nature’s Origami’ was a breath of fresh air at the runway. Doing glamorous ensembles the sustainable way, the label does it yet again with their chic and sartorially sound ensembles.
Using the Ecovera viscose fibres for a sustainable range, this collaboration has to be the highlight for Day 2 at the glossy aisle.
