Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal aka Mrs Roshan Singh Sodhi has filed a case against the show’s producer Asit Kumarr Modi for sexual assault and has quit the show. She has accused him of extending sexual advances at her multiple times. She has alleged that she ignored them initially due to fear of losing out on work and has called the TV serial sets as very “male chauvinist.” She has filed a case against Modi, project Head Sohil Ramani and executive producer, Jatin Bajaj. However, now, her claims have been refuted by Asit Modi and direction head team of TMKOC, Harshad Joshi , Rushi Dave and Arman in a statement. Project Head Sohil Ramani and Jatin Bajaj have also negated her claims.
Jennifer Mistry had said, “Asit Modi has made sexual advances towards me many times in the past. Initially, I ignored all his statements because of fear of losing out on work. But it is enough now and I won't take it anymore. They tried to forcefully stop me on the sets and were shutting the gates and not allowing me to go out. I sent a complaint mail to authorities a month back but haven't got any revert. I am sure they must be looking into it and working towards the case. I am sure they must be investigating. I have hired a lawyer and I know I will get justice very soon. I have filed a case of sexual harassment against Asit Kumarr Modi, Sohil Ramani (Project Head) and Jatin Bajaj (executive producer).”
The direction team of Harshad Joshi, Rushi Dave and Arman reacted about Jennifer Mistry’s allegations and said, “She lacked basic discipline on the set and was not focusing on her work. We regularly had to complain to the production head about her behaviour. On her last day she was abusive in front of the whole unit and left the set without finishing her shoot.”
Project Head Sohil Ramani and Jatin Bajaj said, “She regularly misbehaved on the show with the entire team. While moving out from the shoot, she rashly drove her car out at very high speed not caring for people in her way. She even damaged the set property. We had to terminate her contract because of her bad behaviour and indiscipline during the shoot . During this incident Asit ji was in USA. She is now trying to defame us and the show by making baseless allegations. We have already filed our complaint against these baseless allegations with the concerned authorities.”
Asit Kumarr Modi said in a statement, “We will take legal action as she is trying to defame me and the show both. Since we terminated her services, she is making these baseless allegations.”
