Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon (IPKKND) completed 9 years on June 6 and producer Gul Khan had a surprise for all the fans. The producer went live on YouTube with Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani, who plays Arnav and Khushi on the show and shared IPKKND memories.

Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani rose to fame with the show, which revolved around Arnav and Khushi and the ups and downs in their lives. Talking about his audition, Barun said that he felt out of place. Gul agreed and revealed that she thought Barun was high or drunk during the audition. Even Sanaya felt the same. "Ask me how out of place you were. I thought you were high. He had this jhabru-jhabru (messy) hair and beard that wasn't trimmed for I guess months. And, I could never make out what he was saying. Someone briefed him and he was saying the dialogue in a very slurry way so I was thinking is he drunk or is he high or is he both?" said Gul.

On the other hand, Sanaya had an equally bad experience. "My first audition was horrible. Before I came for the audition, I was in America for a month and a half and I had totally forgotten Hindi. I was told to say the dialogues, which were in Hindi. I was so bad that people in the room said, 'Isko actor kisne banaya, Isko acting kahaan aati hai'."

Despite giving disastrous auditions, both Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani ended up being the lead actors of Iss Pyar Ko Kya Naam Doon, all thanks to producer Gul Khan. She was convinced that Barun and Sanaya could pull off Arnav Singh Raizada and Khushi Kumari Gupta
