The recent episode of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has brought trouble for the makers of the show. In the last night episode, Champal Lal (essayed by Amit Bhatt) the residents of Gokuldham society to use the Hindi language to end a dispute over writing a 'Suvichar' on the society board in a preferred language. He further tells them that they are in Mumbai; hence they should use Hindi which can be understood by all. However, this episode did not go well with the MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena) group and asked the makers to apologize on the same.
The President of MNS Cinema Wing, Amey Khopkar had issued a warning to the makers on Twitter claiming that they wouldn’t mind taking a tough stance against them.

Reacting to the same, producer Asit Modi has taken to Twitter and stated that there is no doubt that in Mumbai Marathi is the main language. He also said that he is a Maharashtrian, Gujarati and as an Indian respects all the language.

Actor Amit Bhatt also wrote an apology letter to the party's chief Raj Thackeray on MNS Chitrapat Sena president Amey Khopkar's demand. In the letter, Amit wrote that "While portraying a character I perform whatever is demanded by the scriptwriters. I personally respect Marathi language and I am proud of it. I wholeheartedly apologize for the mistake".
