Divyanka Tripathi opens up about her first stint as a host, says 'It’s tough to say goodbye to the contestants'

Popular TV actress Divyanka Tripathi is on cloud nine these days! Apart from being a part of Ekta Kapoor’s popular show, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein; her hands are full with few other projects too including reality shows, The Voice and web series Cold Lassi And Chicken Masala. Recently, the lady opened about her first hosting stint wherein she revealed that she loves music, but is only a good bathroom singer.

“I may be exaggerating, but I hope I don’t offend him in any way. We have some interesting interactions, and on this show, people will know his true personality,” she gushes. Is she inspired to take up singing, now? “I love music, but I am only a good bathroom singer,” Divyanka Tripathi said in a statement.

Talking about her love for oscar-winning composer AR Rahman, she further added, “I am a huge fan of his. During my childhood, my siblings and I remember in my childhood, my sister, brother and I used to play his songs from Taal, Roja and Bombay in the car. When I got to know he is the super guru on the show, I felt this was the best.”

Divyanka has earlier hosted many award events but feels there is a huge difference between anchoring those and a TV show. She said, “While hosting a show, you are actually the sutradhar holding the entire concept together. You are interacting with people, the contestants and judges. You have to be more lively and have a presence of mind. At award shows you have to stick to the lines, do your bit and get off the stage. This (TV show) is a different ball game altogether.”

The one thing that the actress finds tough to do on the show is saying good-bye to contestants who don’t make it to the next round. “It hurts to let them go. I feel sad while interacting with them and I say it aloud. When they are singing on stage, not only their family members but even I am praying for them,” the actress signs off.

Reportedly, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein will go off-air in April 2019; however, the final confirmation is still awaited.
