Satyamev Jayate: Aamir Khan to kick-start season 4 with #MeToo movement?

Aamir Khan recently came out in support of the raging #MeToo movement in India by backing out as the co-producer of Mogul after its director Subhash Kapoor was accused of sexual harassment. Amidst initiating guidelines for the safety of women at workplace, the actor also issued a joint statement with wife Kiran Rao mentioning that they will not work with any sexual offenders. And now we hear that Aamir will further extend his support to the movement by launching the season 4 of Satyamev Jayate and discussing the recent topic that has engulfed the entire nation.

As per a report in a leading daily, the show which is slated to air in January 2019, will discuss women safety in its first episode. "With several women opening up about sexual harassment at workplaces and otherwise, Aamir wants to throw light on their problems and the issue of their safety. He has told his team to start doing research on it. He will invite the #MeToo survivors to share their horrifying experiences," the daily quoted a source as saying. Apparently, Aamir will also get some of the alleged accused to present their point of view on the show.

Not to forget, Aamir had launched season one with the issue of female foeticide while the second season’s first episode dealt with rape in India. Now with the fourth season, it looks like he is all set to bring forth another women issue that needs dire attention of the general public.

While the audience has been eagerly waiting for the next season, Aamir had been busy with his upcoming film, Thugs of Hindostan.
