Salman Khan's Dus Ka Dum runtime reduced due to poor ratings?

Salman Khan’s Dus Ka Dum season 3 is having a tough time. After reports of low TRP started doing the rounds the makers of the show resorted to some changes. However, now the buzz is that the show that was used to air for one-and-a-half-hours has been reduced to one hour. The new timing will start this week.

The makers claim that this is part of the overall change in the programming and not because of low ratings, as their other show, Zindagi Ke Crossroads, has also reduced its runtime from one-and-a-half hour to an hour. The show Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai has been rescheduled from 11 pm to 9.30 pm as it has picked up good reviews and good TRPs. The channel authorities believe that the show has more potential to grow in the new time slot.

However, the main crux is that despite featuring Salman the show has not been able to garner a great rating. A source told a leading daily, “Dus Ka Dum 3’s ratings in the vicinity of 0.9 to 1.1. The episode, which was a Race 3 special, got 1.1 which was the same as its opening." The show also got mixed reviews as many thought that the show was too long. A source revealed, “The makers initially must have thought that with such a big superstar hosting the show, they will be able to outdo shows on other channels. Or it could be that after establishing that slot, they would have wanted to launch another show. However, they haven’t been able to do that, so now they must have decided to shorten the length and make the content crisper.”

Hopefully, this will do some good for the show and will improve its ratings and popularity on the small screen. However, soon Amitabh Bachchan's Kaun Banega Crorepati will premier and that will once again give a tough fight to Salman's show.
