There was a time when daily soaps went on and on for close to a decade and yet enjoyed immense fan following. From Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi to Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki to Kasauti Zindagi Kay, these ran for the longest time before going off air.
In fact, currently there are few TV shows like Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Ye Hai Mohabbatein and Kumkum Bhagya who have been running on TV screen for many years and still have a great fan following. On the other hand, there are few shows who have failed to entertain the audience.
Surprisingly, it’s just not one or two shows that are shutting down. Apparently, 12 TV shows will face the axe in coming weeks. Reason? Channel has decided to pull off the show due to bad TRP.
Here’s the list of the shows:
Badho Bahu
The show was all about an overweight girl who overcomes her life's battles with her self-confidence. It went on air in September 2016 and ever since then has enjoyed great viewership. However, the show has lost its charm and hence the channel has decided to pull off the show.
Chandrakanta:
Audience had a lot of expectations from Ekta Kapoor’s Chandrakanta, but it turned out to be the same old wine in a new bottle. The show is all set to go off air. And yes; it will make a way for the producer’s popular series – Naagin 3.
When contacted Madhurima Tuli, the lead actress of the show, she confirmed the news by saying, “Yes, the show is going off air. It was a great journey so far, I had a blast shooting with all the actors. The entire team was so co-operative and supportive. I am really going to miss all the moments I shared with the team members.”
The first episode of Chandrakanta was on aired on 24th June, 2017. There was lot of expectation from the show; however it failed to entertain the audience. In spite of doing lot of brain storming in creativity of the show; it failed to fetch good numbers on the TRP chart.
Dil Se Dil Tak
The show which was inspired by Salman Khan-Rani Mukherjee- Preity Zinta starrer film, Chori Chori Chupke Chupke will air its last episode on the 28th of May.
Ek Deewana Tha
Namik Paul and Donal Bisht starrer Ek Deewan Tha will go off air by the end of May 2018.
Ikyawann
Laado 2
The show couldn’t keep the audience attached to the storyline and hence the channel has decided to pull it off by June 2018.
After the success of ‘Naa Aana Is Des Laado, the makers launched its second season titled – Laado 2 with great expectations. However, the story line failed to grab the audiences’ eyeballs. The show will go off air by the last week of May 2018.
Naamkaran
In spite of having good numbers on TRP chart, the channel has decided to pull off the show.The channel is gearing up to let loose its upcoming crop of shows and hence Naamkarann will come to an end. The show will be replaced by – Krishna Chali London.
Piya Albela
Buzz is that the channel has seen a steep fall in show’s TRPs and hence wants to pull it off air.
Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji
The show was the second edition of the popular show Diya Aur Baati Hum, which led Anas Rashid and Deepika Singh to fame. If sources are to be believed, the show, which launched in April, 2017, will end in a few months.
Woh Apna Sa
The love triangle drama starring Disha Parmar, Sudeep Sahir and Ridhi Dogra is going off air. In spite of doing lot of brain storming in creativity of the show; it failed to fetch good numbers on the TRP chart. The show will go off air next month.
