After having won hearts with its earlier two seasons (Khichdi and Instant Khichdi), producer J.D. Majethia’s famous TV serial Khichdi is now all set to make a comeback. This will be the third season of the serial. Besides the regular actors, this season will see cameos by actors like Renuka Shahane, Deepshika Nagpal, Debina Banerjee, Deepak Parikh, Amit Dolawat, Bhaktiyar Irani and others.

When PeepingMoon.com spoke to J.D. Majethia about the latest season of Khichdi, he said, “When we cast people, we always look out for actors who will make the characters interesting. This time, we are making a team of theatre actors and some of the popular faces, who themselves are the fans of Khichdi, and they also have a big fan following”. Deepshika Nagpal, on her part, said that, she had earlier worked with J.D. Majethia and Aatish Kapadia in Baa, Bahoo Aur Baby. She added when she got a call from them to play a glamorous doctor, she was all game for the same.

When asked the reason for bringing actors on board to do cameos, he said, “Because, the present edition of Khichdi is very contemporary. The responsibility on our shoulders has increased tremendously. Also because Khichdi has grown tremendously as a brand”.  While he revealed that the serial will be telecasted on ‘Star Plus’, he refrained from talking anything about the launch date.

When asked about anything else he has on his ‘plate’ besides Khichdi, he said “When we eat khichdi, we only eat khichdi. Likewise, when we are making the serial, our entire concentration will be on the serial, nothing else”.

Besides the aforementioned cameos, the serial will feature Anang Desai, Rajeev Mehta, Supriya Pathak, Vandana Pathak and others.
