With an extremely heavy heart and on a very sad note we inform that acclaimed actor Irrfan is no more. The actor breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital on April 29, 2020, early morning. He was admitted for a colon infection. He was 53-years-old.
Irrfan was put under a ventilator as well and was constantly monitored by doctors. However, he could not survive and bid adieu to the world. He is survived by his wife Sutapa Sikdar and two sons Babil and Ayan.

The actor was diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour in 2018 and underwent extensive treatment in London. After a health scare that sent shockwaves in the industry as well as among his fans, he made a comeback to films with this year’s Angrezi Medium that also starred Radhika Madan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Deepak Dobriyal.
Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar confirmed the news on Twitter today morning. "My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute," he wrote.

On Saturday, Irrfan’s mother Saeeda Begum had passed away in Jaipur. She was 82-years-old and died of natural causes. However, Irrfan could not attend her funeral due to the nation-wide lockdown.
RIP Irrfan, you will always be remembered for your effortless acting and eyes that held umpteen emotions.
