Security beefed up for Tanushree Dutta following threats; Nana Patekar untraceable

After Tanushree Dutta recorded her statement in the case in which she accused Nana Patekar of sexually harassing her on the set of the 2008 film Horn OK Pleasss, sources in the Mumbai Police said that security has been beefed up for the actress owing to probable threats.

Sources, in fact, also said that police officials tried contacting Patekar but he wasn’t available.

Tanushree was accompanied by her lawyer Nitin Satpute as she recorded her statement at a police station in Mumbai on October 10 while questioning continued for over five hours. Apart from Patekar, the 34-year-old actress has also filed a complaint against choreographer Ganesh Acharya, producer Sami Siddiqui and director Rakesh Sarang.

The Oshiwara police, in the meanwhile, registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Patekar and three others – under section 354 and 509 of IPC.

Tanushree’s accusation against Patekar escalated the #MeToo movement in India where several women outed filmmakers and actors as well as alleged sexual predators. So far, Alok Nath, Subhash Ghai, Vikas Bahl and Rajat Kapoor have been accused of sexual harassment.
