On May 20, two major films of the month clashed at the box office. One was Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and the other was Dhaakad. While the former received a thumbs-up from critics, the latter was panned. This has been reflected in the box office success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Dhaakad.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, on Day 8 at the box office, has successfully and very smoothly managed to make its way into the coveted Rs.100 crores club. The horror-comedy starring Tabu, Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra, Ashwini Kalsekar, Rajesh Sharma and others has collected Rs. 109.92 crores (net collection). On Saturday, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 continued its dream run by minting Rs. 11.35 crores.
On the other hand, Dhaakad has failed miserably. Starring Kangana Ranaut, Arjun Rampal, Saswata Chatterjee and Sharib Hashmi, the film reportedly sold only 20 tickets across the country. According to an entertainment portal's report, Dhaakad ended up collecting only Rs 4,420 on Day 8. As per reports, the makers are now struggling to find streaming distribution as they didn’t crack the deals prior to the release.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is directed by Anees Bazmee and produced by Bhushan Kumar. Dhaakad is directed by Razneesh Ghai and produced by Sohail Maklai.
