Alia Bhatt’s Gangubai Kathiawadi has lit up the cinemas with its tremendous hold that is keeping the cash registers ringing. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial has entered the Rs 100 crore club in little over 12 days. The film has seen an unprecedented collection in these tough times when people are still wary of thronging to cinema halls due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The film had started off with an initial collection of Rs 10.50 crores on the day of its release. On its second Friday, the film garnered Rs 5.01 crores and went on to hold the box office during the weekend and during the weekdays as well.

Gangubai Kathiawadi sees Alia plays the titular role of the madam of a brothel. The film also stars Ajay Devgn, Seema Pahwa, Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Indira Tiwari and Jim Sarbh in pivotal roles.
This is the second film of Alia’s which has marked a century at the box office. Prior to this, Raazi which was again shouldered by her had notched up Rs 123.84 crores in its lifetime.
