Box Office: Uri: The Surgical Strike becomes the first ever mid-range film to cross Rs 200 crore mark

Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam starrer URI: The Surgical Strike has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the domestic box office in less than a month which itself is a benchmark. The film is this year’s first blockbuster hit and also the first ever ‘mid-range’ film to achieve this feat. The film has made over Rs 300 crore worldwide. Directed by Aditya Dhar and also starring Paresh Rawal, Mohit Raina and Kirti Kulhari in pivotal roles, URI: The Surgical Strike has appealed to the audience, the critics as well as the top leaders of the country. Its hit dialogue ‘How’s the Josh?’ found its way to the speeches of Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as during the interim budget presented in the Parliament by Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal.

URI has made more than Rs 25 crore in its fourth week of release. It has broken quite a few records at the box office already and is looking out to break a few more. The film crossed the Rs 75 crore mark on its eighth day of release and crossed the Rs 100 crore mark on day 10. The film registered the highest ever day 23 and 24 totals beating the previous record set by Baahubali: The Conclusion.
