Box Office: Manmarziyaan remains on the lower side; Stree maintains a solid hold

Anurag Kashyap’s new film Manmarziyaan, starring Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu, has managed to earn Rs 16.43 crore within four days of its release. On its opening day, Manmarziyaan earned Rs 3.52 crore while business over the weekend for the film was decent enough as the film managed to maintain an average of Rs 5 crore on both days.

However, on Monday, Manmarziyaan’s collection dropped to Rs 2.10 crore as trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote in his tweet that the film “remains on the lower side”.

Set in Punjab, Manmarziyaan is a complicated love story between the principal characters. The film released on September 14.

In the meantime, Shraddha Kapoor’s and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree is faring exceptionally well at the box office. The film has been maintaining a decent total every week and this weekend as well, it made Rs 2.14 crore on Friday, Rs 3.76 crore on Saturday and Rs 4.75 crore on Sunday. On its third Monday, Stree recorded Rs 1.87 crore while its current earnings stand at Rs 108.05 crore.

Based on a female ghost who exists in Chanderi town, Stree co-stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee. The film released on August 31.
