Box Office: Soorma holds strong, while Ant-Man and the Wasp, Sanju are on a rampage

Diljit Dosanjh, Taapsee Pannu and Angad Bedi starrer Soorma has been performing quite well at the box office, considering that it is facing stiff competition from the Marvel film Ant-Man and the Wasp and Ranbir Kapoor’s SanjuSoorma is a biopic based on the life of Indian hockey player Sandeep Singh. The film also stars Satish Kaushik, Siddharth Shukla, Seema Kaushal, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Pitobash, and Vijay Raaz. Soorma has fetched Rs 15.85 crore till now and if it maintains the same pace on the remaining weekdays then it will pose a respectable total.

The film has received a lot of love for showcasing the inspiring and motivating story of Sandeep on celluloid. Sandeep was accidentally shot while travelling in a train which resulted in him being confined to a wheelchair and almost paralyzed for two years of his life. The man who was completely written off made a miraculous recovery and came back to the game in a big way. He was instrumental in getting India to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics by scoring 16 goals. He also scored the most goals and won the Man of the Tournament award in the 2009 Sultan Azlan Shah Cup.
