Bigg Boss 14's Weekend Ka Vaar episode aired on Saturday left a section of the audience disappointed. The host, superstar Salman Khan, lashed out at contestants Rubina Dilaik, Abhinav Shukla and Nikki Tamboli. The husband-wife pair got grilled for overreacting to Rakhi Sawant's actions while Nikki was repeatedly called 'badtameez'. Social media was flooded with various opinions. Producer Pritish Nandy also criticised Salman.
The producer, on Twitter, called Salman 'misogynist' for being harsh on Rubina and Nikki, who are his favourite contestants. "Watching @BiggBoss I find @BeingSalmanKhan often very tough on @RubiDilaik and @nikkitamboli my favourite contestants. This influences viewers, many of them Salman’s blind bhakts. C’mon Salman, don’t be a misogynist," he wrote

Fans of Bigg Boss 14 lauded Pritish for speaking the truth and in favour of Rubina and Nikki. One user wrote, "Thanku Pritish sir...feels so good to read this...sir I think mostly he reads off script ,but he's fallen into bad books of many of his fans...hard core fans have turned against..sir why don't you please put these words across him." On Saturday's Weekend Ka Vaar, Salman criticised Rubina for ‘overreacting’ to Rakhi pulling the string of her husband Abhinav's shorts. The superstar maintained that Rakhi didn't cross the line and Abhinav has become more popular and is benefitted when Rakhi romances him. For the unversed, Rakhi has time and again claimed that she loves Abhinav and won't allow Rubina to come in between them. Calling it 'entertainment', Rakhi made the couple uncomfortable on several occasions by writing, 'I Love Abhinav' in red all over her body. She even tore his undergarment. With tears in his eyes, Abhinav said if such activities are called entertainment, he wants to go home.
On the other hand, Salman has been slamming Nikki for being 'badtameez' to everyone in the house. Saying that she is coming out as rude and arrogant, the superstar left her heartbroken. She broke down in front of Rubina in Sunday's episode. The husband-wife duo stood by her.
Several other television celebrities and former Bigg Boss contestants too expressed disappointment with the way Salman targetted Rubina, Nikki and Abhinav.
