When you talk about the grand premiere of Bigg Boss there are only two things that come to your mind, first, the name of the contestants who will enter the house & second the glamour quotient of the show. And Bigg Boss 11 offered us both along with the controversial participants on the latest edition of the Salman Khan helmed notoriously popular reality show.
Oh yes, we all know that the format of the show itself is controversy & fights but we usually get to see that in the next two-three episodes but, this time the fights were extremely dominant from the grand stage itself. Looks like, people just couldn't hold their horses and were eager to wash their dirty linen in public.
So saving the glam part for later, for starters let's begin the last but certainly not the least entries on the show. Shilpa Shinde & Vikas Gupta.
Now, these two have a history. Shilpa played the famous "Angoori Bhabhi" in the popular comedy show Bhabhiji Ghar Pe Hai & Vikas was heading the channel during Shilpa's controversial exit from the serial. The moment these two came face to face on the stage, can of worms opened and all Salman could do was nothing but stand quietly as they went on a rant. Finally, Salman cut into their fight & escorted them inside the house. Phew!!! Both Shilpa & Vikas are in no mood to give up & it will be interesting to see the level to which their already existing history & the pressure of the tasks takes their fight too. These two certainly were the highlight of the premier.
Now coming to the glamour part of the show, Varun Dhawan along with his co-stars Taapsee Pannu & Jacqueline Fernandez entered the house & danced to Judwaa 2 songs like Tan Tana Tan Tan Tara & Oonchi Hai Building.
Salman too joined the cast but soon disappeared to come back to the stage to introduce the next contestants. Salman looked dapper in a black suit & Jacqueline too looked pretty in a Maroon gown. The two certainly stole the limelight from Taapsee & Varun Dhawan. Though Varun tried his level best to put his best foot forward, Salman is Salman & Varun still has a long way to go.
The first entry was that of actor Hiten Tejwani from the popular TV soap Kyunki Saas Bhi kabhi Bahu Thi. Gauri Pradhan & Hiten Tejwani performed on popular Salman songs before he entered the house.
However just as Hiten made the entry Salman revealed that neither him nor Varun was the first to enter the house. Infact for the first time BB house has built a "KalKothari" and not just a jail. This is built two feet below & certainly has no amenities. This "KalKothari" already had its first inmate & that was Aakash Dadlani aka 'A Kash' as he likes to call himself. This guy certainly seems to be on something, he claims that Mother Mary came to his dreams & since then he realised that he could sing. (Thoughts in my mind, spare me the horror please!)
How ever Aakash seems like the clown of the lot as he did have Salman & the audience in splits with his crazy antics, especially when he was ask to take a shower by the Padosi (neighbours) to wake him. FYI he suffers from verbal diarrhoea.
The glamour bar was then raised by the entry of VJ Benafsha Soonawala & Priyank Sharma from MTV roadies & Spiltsvilla fame as the duo gave a sizzling performance on Baadshah's Mercy. Will they be the Prince & Navika or Nora Fatehi of this season? Well too early for me to comment on that.
Another glamorous entry on the show was that of Hina Khan, who just finished Khatron Ke Khiladi. True to her personality, Hina rendered a soulful performance on the all time hits Lag Ja Gale & Maine hoon hero tera. She tried to play the coy card which did not go down well with the Padosis as they straightforwardly questioned her domestic skills. Though Hina portrayed that she knows it all, a small conversation between Hiten Tejwani and her revealed the truth. Looks like a tough road ahead for Hina with her limited skills. Let's see how far can she go in the game with her popularity. Oh plus, she claims to be super organised, she already has her eviction, finale & other dresses ready. Well, all I can say is good luck girl, because this skill will soon be put to test.
Another interesting duo that entered into the show with a "Dangal" was Arshi Khan & Bandgi Karla from Delhi.
Both are self proclaimed queens. Arshi is an actress in Pakistan & is rumoured to have dated controversial cricketer Shahid Afridi & Bandgi, on the other hand, is an engineer who keeps getting modelling assignments.
Though both of them tried hard to portray themselves as real meanies, I somehow feel that they are just empty vessels making noise. On the day 1 itself, the two did not leave a chance to get put their claws and fight. In fact, Arshi was quick to pick up on another housemate Puneesh Sharma in front of Salman.
About Puneesh, to me, he just came across as this typical flamboyant & boisterous "Dilli ka launda" who was born with a silver spoon & takes pride is exhibiting his stupidity. He again belongs to the self "self-proclaiming" gang & went on to say that his lifestyle is that of a celebrity, in fact some celebs may envy him. What? Wait, who are you? Oh, I know "Tujhe pata hai mera baap kaun hai types". He is dying for the tag of a celebrity, OMG! Time to change the definition of the word celeb.
So overall 18 contestants entered the house today, below is the list:-

- Vikas Gupta
- Priyank Sharma
- Zubair Khan - Producer & Director. Hails from the notorious family of Dawood Ibrahim. Quiet a cry baby & is on the show to get back to his children who are now with his estranged wife.

Though the Padosis have been given special powers by Bigg Boss, they also have been assigned a task. BB has asked them to portray themselves as relatives to the other housemates.
After a lull of almost three seasons, Bigg Boss season "Gyarah" stands true to its format. The contestants promise a lot of action on the show. Who becomes the bad boy? Who gets thrown out of the show? Who will be the lovebirds? Who will be brother & sister? & Who will master the task like Manveer? These are questions only time will tell.
By the way, for the first time, Salman Khan himself has entered the house. How long will he be there is not known as of now.
