It's mentor vs protégée: Aiyaary trailer starring Manoj Bajpayee and Sidharth Malhotra packs a punch

Talk about Nationalism and director Neeraj Pandey is once again ready to offer his viewers a treat on Republic Day, 2018, with his latest release - Aiyaary.
In the last frame of the trailer, there is a dailogue by Naseeruddin Shah’s where he says one should not poke a poor man. This takes us back to Neeraj's 2008 accalimed film, A Wednesday's climax where Naseer tells Anupam Kher that he is just a ‘stupid common man’.
The film is based on the backdrop of Indian Army starring Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, Rakul Preet Singh, Naseeruddin Shah, Pooja Chopra and Anupam Kher in key roles. The 3 minute long trailer focus on mentor Manoj and his protegee Sidharth's intense relationship, as both will be seen in the roles of 'fauji' in the film. It focuses on the battle of ideologies between two army officers and their clashes, cat and mouse chase, with Anupam and Naseeruddin adding to the pace of the thriller film.
In director Neeraj's words, ‘Aiyaary’ means the ultimate trickery. In the trailer, you will see Manoj’s character Colonel Abhay Singh who is on a lookout for Sidharth i.e. Major Jai Bakshi, a surveillance officer,  trying to decode the meaning of the words “Aiyaar” and “Aiyaary”. In a heated excahnge, Manoj's claims that for him ‘aiyaar’ is someone who remains in disguise to fool others, that is, Sidharth.
While the trailer looks intriguing, it will be a tough battle for the film at the box office as it releases alongside Akshay Kumar starrer PadMan.
For the uninitiated, Akshay and Neeraj have collaborated in the past for successful films films like Special 26, Baby, Rustom and Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
